What is GO Youth?
Grace Outreach Youth is the youth ministry program for Grace Outreach Family Church which was started in August of 2001 by Pastor Tommy Wilborn and his wife Cindy. We are located in the beautiful hill country of Lakeway, Texas, outside of Austin. Our name "GO Youth" was coined by group members, Ellen and Kathleen, so we have to give them props for being super creative and putting those brain cells to good use.
Who's running things?
That's a good question. Our first answer is Jesus Christ. He's the reason and answer to everything we do. The day to day stuff is handled by Travis McAshan, who is the youth minister and worship leader at Grace Outreach Family Church.
Putting a name to a face.
Take a look at the top of this page. Those are all real pictures of the kids in our group not some stock photo library. Trey, Sterling, Monnie, Rebekah, Dillon, Will, Brooke, Abby, Hannah, Rachel, Kirsten, Britney, Melissa, Nathan, Ellen, Evan, Kathleen, Catherine, Michael, Kenneth, Collin, Kyle, Rebecca, Rachel, Taylor, Ashley, Destiny, Audrey, Amanda, Jenn, Eve, Thomas, Kelsie and Michael. Also some people who have volunteered their time, Johanna, Corrie, Laura, Keith, Britney, Andy, Alicia, Melissa, John-Michael and our youth group dog, Molly.
What's with all the pictures?
We believe that each person is unique and exactly how god intended them. On the homepage there are hundreds of photos that rotate randomly. The odds of seeing the same sequence of photos twice is astronomical if not impossible. Amazing isn't it. You'll be the only one that ever sees those pictures in that order ever again. That's exactly like us, there has never been, or is, or ever will be anyone like you and me ever again.
